Where It All Began

Since 1957, The Pediatric Center of Frederick has been committed to delivering exceptional healthcare to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults in Frederick County. Over the years, we've grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of our community, while staying true to our mission of providing high-quality, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care to our families.
Originally founded by Drs. Albert Powell and Frederick Heldrich at 801 Toll House Avenue in Frederick, the practice relocated in 1983 to its current main office on Taney Avenue.
Over the decades, other notable physicians who helped shape The Pediatric Center include Drs. Joseph Fred Baker, Charles Wright, Edward Jay Koenigsberg, Wayne Crowder, and David Bromberg — some staying for a chapter, others for a lifetime — all contributing to the story of who we are today. Among these influential figures, Drs. Lynne Haverkos and Eileen Ebert broke new ground as the first female physicians to join the practice, leaving a lasting mark on its growth and legacy.
Today, that legacy continues. Our growing team of physicians and nurse practitioners, supported by a dedicated staff, provides care across multiple convenient locations throughout Frederick County. We’ve expanded our services to include a mental wellness team, phone triage support, lactation care, and virtual visits, all while staying true to the values that have guided us from the beginning.
