In Their Words...
What inspired you to work with children?
My mom's experiences as an elementary school teacher inspired me to view each child as a unique combination of attributes just ready to be discovered gradually over a lifetime. My sister's recovery from a near-fatal illness when I was 12 years old prompted my interest in biology and the incredible resilience of the human body. Becoming a pediatrician was the obvious career path!
My secret talent or interesting fact about me:
I almost always have an open cup of water in my cup holder while driving. I cannot tolerate the slow dribble of a water bottle!

Favorite way to spend a day off?
Variety is the key!! Exactly one cup of coffee, a run through the neighborhood with a friend, sitting in my garage transforming an old piece of junk into something new with sandpaper and paint, listening to a classic rock radio station while completing the prior task, a dog walk on the creek with Grumpy and Jumpy and husband, connecting with the grown children in some way... and a gourmet dinner cooked by someone else!
