New Patients

New Patients' FAQs

Is Your Office Accepting New Patients?

Our practice is currently closed to all new patients except for existing families and newborns. We will be reopening our practice to new patients September 2024.

When you call to register your child(ren) we will:

  • Inform you about our vaccine policy.
  • Inform you that for patients who are transferring care from another provider that we require previous medical records to be transferred in before scheduling them. At minimum we require their immunization record and a copy of their last well visit before we are able to schedule them to be seen.
  • Ask for verification of your child's insurance coverage. Click here for insurance and billing information as well as a list of insurances we participate with.

What Is Your Policy On Vaccines?

Our providers feel very strongly that vaccinating on schedule with currently available vaccines is absolutely the right thing to do for all children and young adults. As a minimal guideline we expect that our patients be no more than one visit behind schedule and that all patients be up to date with all vaccines by age 2.  If you choose not to vaccinate your child(ren) following this guideline, we will ask you to transfer care to another practice.

If you are transferring to The Pediatric Center from another practice, we appreciate your entrusting us with your child’s health care. To help you request a transfer of your records from your previous physician, we have provided below a Records Release Form as part of our New Patient Registration Packet. Be sure to sign the form, and then send it to your previous physician’s office.

You may wish to complete and print the Registration Packet before coming in for your child's first appointment. Feel free to email the completed packet and medical record release form to
records@thepedcenter.com.

How Do I Have My Child's Records Transferred?

Will My Child See The Same Provider At Every Visit? Do I Have To Select One Office?

We strive for continuity of care for our patients, and encourage families to become accustomed to two or three providers for their well care visits. However, we know that illnesses cannot be predicted and at times it will be necessary for your child to see a provider with which you may be unfamiliar. Our patients are free to be seen at any office they choose. Our Taney Aveue East office is open evenings, Saturday mornings and holidays. We have been using an electronic medical record since 2002, so that no matter at which office your child is seen, records are readily available.

Who Do I Speak to Regarding Health Insurance Questions?

Feel free to call our Business Office 301-662-1930 if you have specific insurance questions or concerns.
